Ron Cannan, MP Kelowna Lake Country, tables Motion 601 calling for an amendment to this 1928 law that would allow Canadians to purchase wine directly from Canadian wineries for personal consumption.

Minister Ritz supports “…liberalizing the movement of wine for personal use within Canada. Facilitating a robust domestic market for Canadian wines is an obvious and necessary step".

Two similar initiatives are underway to address U.S. wine access problems. (You may be interested to know that it is legal in 37 U.S. States to buy and ship wine across state boundaries.)
